Scott grew up in Minneapolis and has attended First Free since 1981. He received a degree in Cabinet making from Minneapolis Technical College, and received certificates in Basic Lay Ministry and Basic Christian Leadership from Capernwray Bible School in Moss Vale, Australia.

Scott has worked in cabinet making and residential construction. Before joining the First Free staff in 2002, he worked at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in the Maintenance Division.

Scott is married to Vanessa and they have two children, Liam and Ava.

In his free time, Scott enjoys working with his hands, playing sports, outdoor activities, and being involved with ministry.
