News & Notes

Welcome to our own Troy Holliday who will be preaching this morning!

Seekers Farewell: We will say good bye to Hanson & Lotus Tian today during the Seekers' Potluck. They will be leaving in mid-August for Washington State, where he has taken a position. Hanson has served as an usher this past year, and Lotus has helped in the nursery along with their involvement in the Seekers' Class. They will be greatly missed!

Pray for our Youth and Sponsors who leave on their mission trip to Costa Rica on July 28-August 6. Youth are as follows: Luke Amstutz, Bailey Berry, Ben Byer, Kimisha Collins, JG Ferguson, Ryan Friesen, Anthony Larson, Anne Peterson, BJ Pierce, Alicia Symington, and Ingrid Vatsaas. Sponsors are: Chad & Heidi Hollinbeck and Mark & Melinda Meyers.

Dental Mission Trip to Peru: Our church team is making final preparations to leave on August 14 for the dental mission trip to Peru. Please pray for this outreach. You can also support the trip by donating adult and child toothbrushes to be handed out at their clinics. There will be a collection box in the church foyer for this purpose. Muchas Gracias!

Interested in Baptism? Our Annual Lake Baptism & Church Picnic is coming up on Sunday, August 10, at Lake Nokomis. If you are interested in being baptized, contact the church office at (612) 827-4705 or mark your Welcome Card.

Picnic in the Park: The 17th annual Picnic in the Park will be located at Pearl Park on Thursday, July 31, from 5:30-8:30 pm. First Free will have a booth again this year. Come for food, entertainment, activities, and to meet your neighbors.

First Free Blood Drive: Please save the date of Wednesday, August 13, from 3:30-6:30 pm and plan to participate. Anyone 16 years old to over 100 is welcome to donate blood. Sign up by calling Christy Fleming at (651) 332-7167 or at the Welcome Desk on Sunday mornings.

Child Dedication: We will be having a Service of Child Dedication on Sunday, August 17, at 9:30 am. If you are interested in dedicating your child, call the church office.

A Youth Mission Dessert will be held Wednesday, August 27, from 7:00-8:30 PM in the gym. Come and hear what God did in and through the Students at FEFC this summer while they were on the mission trips you supported - all while enjoying tasty pies and treats!
