Jesus is calling us to make a decision.

 

1) Travelers must choose their way. Vv. 13-14


  • Wide road or Narrow road


  • Destruction or Life

 

2) Hearers must choose their message. Vv 15-23

We cannot identify a true prophet by . . .

. . .how they dress. vs. 15

. . . their works. vv. 21-22

. . . the words they use. vv. 21-22

. . . their sincerity. vs. 23

 

We are to identify a true prophet by their fruit. vv. 16-20

  • Fruit of Character: A life growing in conformity to the norms of the kingdom.


  • Fruit of Teaching: Are they teaching what Jesus taught?

 

Take Home Idea: A soul is a dangerous thing to lose. We had better be careful what road we are on and to whom we listen.
