Biography/Description of Ministry
Heidi Tunberg spent her childhood in Malaysia and Singapore where her parents were missionaries with the Ev. Free Church. After getting her MA in Counseling Psychology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, she spent seven years in private practice as a therapist. Also involved as a leader of the youth group at Central Free Church during those years, she grew increasingly interested in the care of missionary kids (MKs), particular those in high school and college.
In 1999 Heidi accepted a position with the EFCA IM (now ReachGlobal) providing care for their MKs in the college & career age group. In this role she offers both encouragement and practical assistance and information to MKs as they return to the US for college, visiting them on campus and keeping in touch by phone, mail and email. In addition, she seeks to develop relationships with MKs in junior high and high school and to be a resource to parents on issues related to raising kids internationally. She currently lives in Minneapolis, MN with her two matching schnauzers, though she spends much of her time on the road visiting MKs around the U.S.
