Biography/Description of Ministry
I grew up in a Christian home with my parents and 3 brothers going to church every Sunday and involved in many church activities as a young child.
I never thought of being a missionary until I was a senior at the University of Minnesota. I took my first overseas mission trip to South East Asia the summer before my senior year of College. It changed my life forever. After that trip God started to work in my heart and I considered going on more mission trips. I was very fortunate to already have a position in my career field working with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx. I didn’t want to leave this position but I had no idea that God would change the course of my life and call me to the mission field. I felt a strong call to be a missionary and signed up with Kids Alive because the church sends many teams down, and I liked their different options for commitment and what they stood for.
I came to the Dominican Republic with a team from church in April 2015, and it was day two that I was here that I knew I was going to be coming back. After that God provided just enough financial support for me to head off to 6 weeks of language school in Guatemala in the Fall of 2015, and then I headed straight to the Dominican Republic for one year.
In the Dominican Republic, I work at a Kids Alive School in Constanza, redeveloping the physical education program, developing an afterschool sports ministry for 5th and 6th grade and this year 2016 I have taken over Child Sponsorship in the School and children’s homes here in Constanza.
I am excited to be able to continue serving God’s people and children in the Dominican Republic to help them grow spiritually. My goal is to be able to reach adolescents (especially young girls) for Christ through sports and activities.
I send out a weekly prayer letter every Monday If you would like to be added to that list email me and let me know.
