Adult Bible Fellowships

Our Adult Bible Fellowships (previously known as Sunday School Classes) are groups that meet weekly during the education hour (Sundays at 9:50 am). During this time, the focus is on teaching Biblical principles while at the same time building relationships through prayer and discussion. The groups also have regular social gatherings for members to create lasting friendships.

Joining an Adult Bible Fellowship provides you with a "home base" at First Free with other believers in a similar life stage. All members and regular attenders are encouraged to find an ABF to make their home.

Groups are available for adults of all ages: from college students to senior citizens. As the members of an ABF get older, they stay together and new ABFs for the youngest adults are formed.

Fidelis

The Fidelis class was formed in 1952. The name of the class, meaning "Faithful," was suggested by Alice Anonsen/Nelson, who has since gone to be with the Lord.

The primary purpose of Fidelis is to meet for Bible instruction during the Sunday School hour. The activities of the class are carried out in such a manner as to further the work of the Sunday School and of the church, through the encouragement of Christian fellowship, promotion of missionary activities and any other activities which will enrich the lives of its members, help win others to Christ and prepare its members for further service to Christ.

The class has been very missionary minded as reflected in the missionary giving over the years.

The Blessing Barrel was introduced by Don Erickson in 1981. It has inspired lots of sharing of blessings received, prayer requests and answers to prayer.

Throughout the years, the class has provided fun and fellowship through the socials and annual banquets.

Maranatha

The Maranatha class was begun in 1937. Teachers have usually been talented Church members.

A monthly social was common during the first 60 years which encouraged strong personal and family bonds.

A strong interest in missions at home and abroad continues. Currently there are eight missionaries who have or had parents in this class.

Seekers Class

Seekers Multi-Culture

The Seekers Multi-Culture Class is for adults who want to know more about what it means to be a follower of Christ and/or followers of Christ who have cross-cultural backgrounds and want to participate with others cross-culturally.

A Thought From God's Word:
My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power. [1 Corinthians 2:4]
