Date Correction for Men's Soul Search: October 21
Soul Search, a fellowship breakfast and discussion for men, will begin October 21st at 9:00 a.m. and every third Saturday until May 2018.
Outreach Weekend: October 28-29
Hear about the good work being done all over the world by missionaries supported by First Free! The theme for this Outreach Weekend is “Awesome Prayer”. Evangelism and missions is a spiritual battle, and in prayer we storm the gates of hell and advance the Kingdom of God.
On Saturday there will be a brunch at 10:30 a.m. followed by a missionary panel so that you can hear about the work and prayer requests of each missionary. Childcare available. For info about the missionaries coming this weekend, see our monthly newsletter.
On Sunday, John Robb, Chairman for International Prayer Connect and International Facilitator for the World Prayer Assembly, will be the keynote speaker in our worship gatherings and other missionaries will share in community groups. Joseph Najem will also speak after a potluck lunch on Sunday at noon about the situation of Christians in the Middle East. This potluck is open to everyone and will be downstairs at church. Childcare available.
Child Dedication: November 12
We will have a child dedication on Sunday, November 12th. If interested in having your child dedicated, contact the church office or talk to a pastor.
Adult Electives: November 12, 19, & 26
We are excited to offer you two 3-week electives during both hours (9:15 and 11:00) on Sundays. No need to sign up, just show up!
Elective #1: "Gospel Clarity" with Jay Pound
Many of us find it difficult to talk to others about the gospel - even when we want to. Could it be that we may not understand it as clearly as we assume? Communicating anything effectively begins with understanding it clearly. Join pastor Jay Pound as we look again at the good news of the gospel in order that we might understand and communicate it more clearly. (Runs all 3 weeks).
Elective #2: Resources for Ministering to the Next Generation
Week 1: Hear from Brad Houdashelt, a member of CRU's (formerly Campus Crusade) national staff as he shares about CRU's efforts to minister in the digital age through social media, technology and the internet.
Week #2: Are you the parent or grandparent of a teen? Do you work with students? Have you ever looked for ministry resources, only to feel overwhelmed by the options? Join our student pastor Jason Pensa as he shares some great resources for students.
Week #3: We know it can be hard to sift through all the resources out there for children and families. Join our children's ministry director Beth Brown as she shares some of her favorite choices with you.
Quarterly Celebration (Business Meeting): Nov. 13
Join us as we celebrate God's faithfulness to us here at First Free on Monday, November 13th at 7:00 p.m.
